Paf and Atletico de Madrid present a unique Sponsorship Agreement

Paf is the new shorts-sponsor for the club, where Paf’s brand will appear on the shorts, training clothes, training field etc. 

                      

The sponsorship is for the 2008-2011 season, where Paf will use Atletico de Madrid’s image as an international communication platform to further strengthen awareness of Paf’s brand and services.

The sponsorship also contains another unique dimension.

During the first quarter 2009, Paf will also be launching a tailored made online gaming site for Atletico de Madrid’s fans around the world. On this gaming site, fans will be able to find, for example, the best odds on Atletico de Madrid’s matches, to win tickets and VIP packages, get exclusive information from players and managers and much more entertaining and fun content.

Paf was established in 1966 as a charitable organization, which still is the foundation of Paf’s business today. Last year Paf donated 20 million euros to different charity organizations, which will also be a driving force in the joint venture with Atletico de Madrid. Revenue from players’ spending on the gaming site will also be donated to local charities in Madrid chosen by Atletico de Madrid themselves.

Information about Paf:
The Paf Group is a charitable gaming operator with its head office on Åland, an autonomous province of Finland. Atletico de Madrid S.A.D is a distinguished Spanish club which was formed in 1903. The club has nine Spanish League titles, the latest of which was from the 1995-1996 season, and the same number of Spanish Cup Titles, the latest one in 1996. In 1985 Atletico won the Spanish Super Cup, that is to say, the meeting between the League Champions and the Cup Champions from the previous season. The club also won the 1961-1962 European Cup and the Intercontinental Cup in 1974. 

Atletico Madrid has made its way to the Champions League. The team played the first qualification match, in CL qualification round 3, against the German Schalke04 and lost 0-1. The return match was played last Wednesday at the boiling Vicente Calderón, which has capacity for 54,851 spectators, for which about 44,000 season tickets were sold before the coming season. “Atleti” crushed the Germans 4-0 under the gaze of Diego Armanda Maradona. His daughter is together with the king of Atletico, Kun Agüero, who made it 1-0 against Schalke. 

Atletico Madrid is led by Javier Aguirre. Among the players, one finds international stars such as the Czech national side’s defender Tomas Ujfalusi, Portugal’s national side’s midfielder Simão, the former Liverpool player Luis Garsia as well as the striker duo Diego Forlan and Kun Agüero, the last of whom recently won Olympic gold in Beijing.
